Executive Board & Group Leader

Rocky Mountain Rescue's Executive Board is comprised of twelve active, retired, or auxilliary RMRG members. The Executive Board directs the organization, and procures and manages the operating and capital resources that RMRG needs to function. The Board meets monthly and is lead by president Steve Chappell. Steve has been with RMRG for 14 years and is a former Group Leader for the team. As a professional, Steve earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado and is currently a research specialist on NASA projects related to the testing of human spaceflight systems in extreme environments.

RMRG operations are led by our Group Leader, Kelly Lucy. The Group Leader's primary responsibility is ensuring full operational readiness at all times. The Group Leader also leads our biweekly training meetings. Kelly has been a member of RMRG for 28 years.
