RMRG is proud to be a fully accredited member of the
Mountain
Rescue Association (MRA) for another 5 years.
Over the weekend of the 4th and 5th of May, RMRG hosted over 35 evaluators
and observers from 15 mountain rescue teams across Colorado and New Mexico.
The members of these professional un-paid mountain rescue teams
established challenging scenarios in high and low angle rope rescue, search,
avalanche rescue and technical snow rescue.
RMRG was 'paged' out to these scenarios from our headquarters in Boulder,
as if responding to real rescues all why being closely scrutinized by our peers.
To retain our MRA accreditation RMRG required a passing vote by our peers on our capability
to meet hundreds of detailed criteria for best practices in mountain rescue.
We passed all scenarios with flying colors.
The Rocky Mountain
Region of the MRA provides the highest standards of
accreditation for Mountain Rescue teams in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Accreditation ensures that when teams across the region call for mutual aid from
each other, they can have utmost confidence in that response. This region of
the MRA responds to almost 1,300 calls for assistance annually. About 150 of those
are from RMRG's primary response area, Boulder County.
We would like to thank all of our mountain rescue colleagues for their
support in evaluating our skills and the vote of confidence in being recognized
as one of the best mountain rescue teams in the nation.
RMRG is proud to be a fully accredited MRA peer of the following teams:
Alpine Rescue Team, Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council, Atalaya SAR,
Mountain Rescue Aspen, Douglas County SAR, Grand County SAR, El Paso County SAR,
Larimer County SAR, Routt County SAR, Summit County Rescue Group, Vail Mountain
